Case Study: Sponsored ISP of the Week: E-Gate Communications Inc.

The table to the right is data that is taken from our CITools, which is available for $750/year.

The lower rows in light gray are E-Gate's Detailed Listing views (When a user clicks on an ISP's name when they turn up in a search) before signing up for Sponsored ISP of the Week.

The rows in yellow show the week they were Sponsored ISP of the Week (SIOTW), which means every time a search in which the SIOTW is returned, that ISP shows up at the top of the list, highlighted in yellow, as well as in their normal (alphabetical) position within the results page.

As you can see, the immediate result of being a SIOTW was a greater than 400% increase in viewings for E-Gate.

Traffic was lower on the 6th and 7th, being a weekend, which is typical of traffic for CanadianISP.com; The bulk of our traffic comes during business hours on weekdays, which suggests most of our users are checking from their place of work (Which is excellent exposure for your business connectivity!)

You can see an immediate drop in traffic after the SIOTW listing expired (July 11th), back to their pre-SIOTW listing.

When speaking to E-Gate, we were informed that both inquiries and sales for their DSL services increased immediately upon launch of their SIOTW status on CanadianISP.com

These numbers clearly show that a SIOTW listing massively increases your traffic initially, since it is a "new" search result (i.e. the yellow listing attracts the eye and the mouse a lot more than the standard links), followed by an average increase of 200% of your normal traffic while you retain SIOTW status for your cities and services listed.

E-Gate's SIOTW covered the city listings for Toronto and Mississauga and no others. (Traffic would have been much higher if the top six Ontario cities had been covered, i.e. Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, London, Scarborough and Hamilton.)

When choosing which cities you to cover for your SIOTW listing, you can choose based on your own decisions from the CITools data or, if you do not subscribe to the CITools data, we will be more than happy to tell you which cities are currently the most heavily searched for your given province or provinces. (If available for your desired time slot)
